Kalikala Cuisine in Island of Hawaii

Delicious waffles, perfectly cooked eggs and bacon. Great location and view. We returned for a second day in a row. Service depends on who you get. The first visit was excellent, but the second time the waiter was more interested in chatting up the girls then doing his job.

Went there for breakfast. They don’t have a wide menu but what they do they do extremely well. The presentation and preparation is amazing. The taste goes along with it. Try the coconut lavender latte. The owner is super friendly. Sometimes a little too thick on the sales pitch but after you try the food you’ll understand he’s not just feeding you lines. Go out of your way for breakfast here. Just look at the beauty in this yogurt parfait. I count 12 different Kinds of fruits.

Gorgeous setting with stunning views. Fresh ingredients worth the longish wait but after a time a server inquired as to what we had ordered. Shortly thereafter food appeared and was no longer hot. The hostess asked how our food was and while seemingly concerned with our issue, did nothing to rectify it or compensate in any way.

My wife and I were impressed enough with our first meal that we decided to eat Thanksgiving dinner here. Needless to say that meal was exquisite and if I was able to give it more stars I would. The owners were very friendly and shared some of the unique history of the restaurant and it's location.We'll eat here next time we're in town, especially breakfast which I heard was one of the better meals around. Sadly, we were unable to visit more and will make this a must eat place when in the islands

Make sure to try the French Toast it was awesome but the homemade lilikoi syrup was definitely the star of the dish. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. 100% gonna go again for breakfast before the long trip home!

All great things take time. Kalikala prepares you well and states on their menu that you will wait for your meal longer than you would have to wait at any of their neighbors' restaurants. However, it is 100% well worth it. Spend your time enjoying the view of the water, people watching, and enjoying the delicious coffee. The food was spectacular, and provided unique Hawaiian spin on breakfast classics. The service was wonderful and friendly. The restaurant is not for the average tourist who prefers a more mainstream experience.

Nice place but the waitress was extremely rude and unprofessional. I wrote a 15% tip which was fine for her performance and told me I HAVE to tip 20% or more because it's customary in the USA. I said tip is up to the customer if she did a good job. Then she went on a patronizing xenophobic rant how I'm forced to tip her this much in this country. I told her if she acts this at I'll tip zero percent and I'm definitely not coming back. So yeah, nice place but this waitress has to go because she's driving customers away

Nope.... Not a very good breakfast for WAY too much $$, even for the location (eg 5 bucks for a small coffee and they charge $2 for a refill - and if you want cream or sugar, then go get it yourself). Nice location though.

Wow!!! 5 stars across the board! Ryan gave incredible service. The drinks were the best we’ve had in Kona yet... and the food was above and beyond. Places like this with an incredible location and stunning view don’t necessarily have to be good to be successful. But Kalikala was better than good anyways. We hope to go back later for happy hour. My favorite food experience so far in Kona.

Wonderful spot for coffee, breakfast or lunch. Amazing food. Super friendly owners. Amazing view of the pay (we watched dolphins play in the water from this spot).

It‘s a touristy place with mediocre food. The coffee was definitely no Kona coffee and not okay to label it as such. The prices are relatively high and the service personal literally told us to „serve ourselves“. No recommendation

We have enjoyed Crystal's breakfasts for many years and when we heard about Kalikala we could not wait to try it, and oh wow was it all we expected and more! The food was delicious from the scallops to the fresh fish and the very tasty dessert! We came for Thanksgiving dinner and the turkey plate was unforgettable. I've never had a turkey dinner out that competed with Thanksgiving at home, but this did.The seating is casual with great views of the bay. The staff is all super friendly and accommodating and were doing a great job even with the Thanksgiving crowds! Just like the breakfasts, we are already looking forward to the next time we can eat at Kalikala Cuisine and enjoy more of Crystal's wonderful meals!

Really good food. Great taste. The coffee was great too. Right by the coast! Amazing view and food. The attention to detail on the food was outstanding from the green accent of a leaf to the beautiful flower.

Must have been good. We went 3 times in our 6 days in Kona. Might have gone more if we discovered earlier. Great food. Good people. And great people watching as they get splashed from the sea wall.

Very friendly service and good food. I'm pleasantly surprised by the fact that they use ice coffee cubes for your ice coffee so it doesn't get watered down.

The view is amazing, and the food is divine! On top of that, the plating is beautiful! Everything we had was by far the best in town! We had a lovely afternoon eating, watching the waves, and feeling the warm breeze..

What an awful place. The owner is an obnoxious person with a fowl mouth. He is very abrupt with customers. I will never set foot in this establishment again. He certainly didn’t make me feel comfortable.

Fam and I are visiting from Toronto, Canada and decided to google and yelp local restaurants in Kona and came across Kalikala. We wanted authentic flavours, something different from your typical chains and this place hit it out of the ballpark! We were welcomed by Richard, who runs the restaurant alongside his daughter Crystal, who has prepared the menu with some of the best pairings of flavours that we have ever tasted. Even my daughter who’s the pickiest eater on earth LOVED her meal. Richard took the time to explain the unique decor of this outdoor restaurant, as well as his daughters’ culinary background and how they pride themselves on local flavours and presentation of their food - our complimentary thoughts on the restaurant, service, and delicious food were echoed by two other patrons after they finished their meals. We will be back and HIGHLY RECOMMEND that if you are in Kona, try their food YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!

Breakfast not as great as expected. Both of our eggs (omelette and sunny side up) were overdone so they are a little rubbery. Waffles were ok, had a little interesting twist with the pineapples. Breakfast was So-so but the view was amazing.

A gem on Ali’i Drive. Great food and service. One of those places with an amazing chef producing fresh and delicious food. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Can’t say enough about the great food!
